About the Minister:
The Reverend Betty Aitkin is a former Licensed Unity Teacher of Unity Toronto who in the late 1970's became an ordained Unity minister and assumed leadership of Christ Church Unity in Hamilton, ON. She lifted a small group of people to great heights and purchased a first permanent home for the ministry, then purchased a magnificent site overlooking the city of Hamilton, ON which became Unity Canada's first retreat center along with a thriving ministry. For over 25 years, The Reverend Aitkin maintained one of the largest and successful Unity ministries in Canada. She has recently retired and was serving in the Burlington, ON area as part of a 'new' branch Ministry of Unity Church of Truth, Toronto until she became ill and has been hospitalized. Since Rev. Betty Aikin's declining health her 'prayer group ministry' will continue out of respect for her long service, devotion and love for God. Rev. James Sherman who performed Rev. Betty Aikin's Ordination service is committed to supporting 'Betty's' work and many other LUT's who worked under Rev. Betty Aitkin to develop her prayer ministry are committed as well and intend to carry on with Betty's life work. We see God as the head of this Prayer Ministry and know that it is doing wonderful work. God is blessing all who join together to continue Betty's work.
